Dream Big & Make a Difference! Dive into this challenge to discover something beyond just ‘you’. Ever heard of the 17 United Nations Global Sustainable Development Goals? Well, it’s time to pick one that ignites your passion! Let’s brainstorm ways you can lend your time, resources, or daily actions to champion these global aspirations.

Join our kick-off workshop to navigate these impactful goals, uncover their significance, and unravel the joy of giving back. Most excitingly? You’ll vibe with like-minded members, bonding over a mission larger than life! Together, let’s dream, do, and make a difference!

Outcome of Challenge:

Understand the global goals, choose 1 to support, and support it for a month.

Recommended Additional Resources:

  • BOOK: “Give and Take: Why Helping Others Drives Our Success” by Adam Grant – This book explores the concept of giving and its impact on personal and professional success. Adam Grant explains how being a giver, someone who contributes without expecting immediate returns, can lead to greater happiness and long-term success
  • BOOK: “The Paradox of Generosity: Giving We Receive, Grasping We Lose” by Christian Smith and Hilary Davidson – This book delves into the paradox that generosity leads to receiving. It presents research on how acts of giving, whether in time, money, or resources, can enhance well-being and overall life satisfaction.
  • TED TALK: The Surprising Science of Happiness” by Dan Gilbert – Dan Gilbert’s TED Talk explores the psychology of happiness and how our understanding of what makes us happy can be counterintuitive. He discusses the concept of synthetic happiness and how our contributions and attitudes can shape our well-being.

NOTE: These sessions are NOT recorded. If you miss attending the live challenge launch session you can watch a briefing video in the BU Crew Facebook Group so you’re still able to participate in this month’s challenge.

NOTE: These sessions don’t have structured workbooks. Instead, it’s recommended that you bring a journal or notepad to capture your thoughts and ideas during the session. You’ll also get a lot of insight by actively participating in the group conversations during the challenge launch session.
