Practicing Forgiveness (Doing Session)

November 10, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm AEDT

To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.

Forgiveness can be a tricky little thing, it can feel emotionally intense and hard to move through but it is also one of the biggest gifts we can give ourselves for our own peace of mind. To live a life of emotional freedom, forgiving ourselves and others is essential. It’s the realisation that forgiveness is within our complete control. Therefore to not forgive is putting ourselves in a cage of our own creation.

Saying this can be a lot easier than doing it. So let’s look at some of the structures or beliefs that either hold us back from letting go and forgiving others and let’s flip those on it’s head with some practical tools to move forward.

In this session we will:

  • Observe how we are currently viewing forgiveness and how that’s affecting our life and relationships
  • Discover where it sits in past, present, future
  • Explore empowering possibilities of forgiveness
  • Practice tangible steps to forgiveness

This workshop pairs well with the Suffering, Surviving and Thriving workshop, Leaning into acceptance workshop and any of the relationship workshops on conflict.

Note; This is a ‘doing’ session which means it’s primarily focused on helping you implement key steps and actions. As we regularly say at BU; knowledge is not power, knowledge that is applied through action is power. These ‘doing’ sessions are a fantastic opportunity to put your learnings into practice and take tangible steps forward with your happiness, personal development and wellbeing.
