Learning to Let Go of Control

A core foundation of modern mindfulness is the art of surrendering our need for control. It’s suggested that many of our headaches and heartaches in life stem from trying to control things that are inherently uncontrollable. Learning to let go of control, to embrace the unpredictability of life, and to accept things as they arise is a difficult but freeing pursuit that can help us feel more at peace with life. In this session you will:

 

  • Explore why you feel a need for control
  • Identify what you can aim to control, vs what is out of your control
  • Learn practices to help you embrace the art of surrendering

 

If you self identify as a bit of a ‘control freak’ or if you struggle to embrace change then this is a fantastic session for you.

 

Note; This is a ‘being’ session which means it’s primarily focused on giving you the space and opportunity to be present, mindful and connected to yourself. This type of session is less about learning new strategies, nor is it about taking a lot of action. Instead it’s an opportunity to be introspective, to reconnect with your own intuition, and to take some much needed breathing room from the busy-ness of life.
