When Positive Thinking Goes Wrong

April 4, 2023 @ 6:30 am - 7:30 pm AEST

“Just think positive”, “good vibes only”. Cliched sayings like these have overrun social media, been framed on office walls, and even been stitched into pillows – but did you know that there is a dark side to them?

Positive thinking has a dark and dangerous underbelly that often leaves people feeling worse mentally and emotionally than they were before.

In this session we will:

  • Uncover the dark underbelly of positive thinking
  • Explore the differences between healthy mindset management and toxic positivity
  • Teach you how to free yourself from unhealthy positive thinking

If you are someone who fears ‘negative’ emotions, who avoids them at all costs, or who puts a lot of pressure on yourself to be ‘positive’ all the time – then this is a great workshop for you.

Note; This is a ‘thinking’ session which means it’s primarily focused on equipping you with tools, techniques and strategies that relate to this topic. Some of these tools may be new to you, whilst others might be familiar and present an opportunity for you to re-visit them and strengthen them. After the session there will be an optional unrecorded Q&A session that you can attend.
